Its based on cricket 2007 with ipl feature added to it by and launched as cricket 2008.
Remember: It is not created by EA. Its created or say modified by fans just adding IPL and FREE HIT feature to EA Cricket 2007.

If you are not able to play the game do the following.
1)Go to the game directory.
2)Cut cricket07.exe and paste it somewhere else.
3)Run cricket07.exe from the new location it will ask you where you installed cricket 07.
4)Direct it to the location where you installed it.
5)The game starts working you can now copy back the cricket07.exe into the game directory
